Born and raised in Romania, where I tried a variety of sports: handball, gymnastics, tennis, swimming, ballet & modern dances. However, it was always for a short period of time because nothing stuck with me (except the ballet & modern dances which I did for 7 years).
In 2011 I went to Belgium with an Erasmus scholarship for a year and that is where I started picking up running, mainly to get back into shape. I continued my expat journey in the Netherlands and almost 6 years later I am still here. Crossfit came into my life in January 2016 and up until then I was your normal gym rat, and thinking that I have to get into shape to start doing crossfit, silly, silly me.
Crossfit was for me love at first WallBall shot, since that’s what I had in my trial workout. I became addicted to it immediately and have been going to the same box, Crossfit Hofplein, in Rotterdam, ever since, 5-6 times a week.
In April 2018 I also got my Level-1 certificate and have started an internship at my box to learn how to coach, in parallel to my 9-5 job. Oh yeah, and I am a vegan for the exact same time that I’ve been doing crossfit. And as you can see it was not the first thing I mentioned about myself.
Fun fact: I tend to jerk the barbell straight into my chin with Split Jerks.
Favorite workouts: the Bear Complex, DT, and sprinkle some Cindy every now and then.
My biggest challenge so far: get a pull-up
